DWD — Deal With DUO (Episode 1) is part of the MAKE MONEY MAKE SENSE practical, human workshops designed to bring clarity to personal finance without jargon, shame, or sales pitches. In this session, we focus on three core pillars:

Demystification 💸

We break down how student debt like DUO actually works: repayment rules, interest, income-based calculations, timelines, all in plain language.

Tool Mastery 💻

You’ll learn how to read your debt overview, understand your repayment structure, and use a simple framework to organize your financial decisions.

Planning of resources ⏳

We’ll help you design a realistic monthly plan that balances: debt repayment, personal savings, long term investing, and everyday life. No financial background required. No judgement. No selling. Just clarity!

Together, we’ll explore real-life scenarios and give you the structure to make confident, informed decisions about your student loan. You will leave with: a clearer understanding of DUO and student debt in general, a practical repayment direction, a structured way to think about your finances, at least one concrete next step.

Who should attend?

Dutch and international students, expats navigating DUO, recent graduates & young professionals, and anyone unsure how to handle their student debt. If student debt feels confusing, overwhelming, or like a “future problem”, this session is for you.

Tickets

We like to do things differently, that is why we provide most of our events free of charge. We work with a placeholder ticket system, so you book a ticket which will be refunded if you show up*. You will be able to donate the proceedings of your ticket to International Center. We create these events with a non-profit ideology and will invest the donation into the well-being of the international community. So by donating, you will have fun and support others as well. Win-win!
