What does democracy mean to you?

During the Week of Democracy, we invite locals and internationals in Tilburg to come together and have a conversation about democracy, participation and inclusion. Democracy can mean something different to everyone. Maybe you grew up with a completely different political system, or perhaps you have lived in Tilburg for years. What can we learn from each other? When do you feel heard? And how can different voices have a place in our city?

Democrazy: Democracy Across Borders is an interactive evening where there is no need to be a politics expert. We want to create a space where people can share their experiences, exchange perspectives and get curious about how others see democracy. We will also be joined by Mohamed Choyoua, member of the Tilburg City Council, who will share his experience in local politics and give us a glimpse into the work of the municipal council.

What to expect

You can expect open conversations, different opinions, surprising insights and hopefully a few new connections along the way. There are no right or wrong answers. Just different perspectives. Whether you have been living in Tilburg for years, recently moved here, or simply want to meet people and have a good conversation: you are welcome at the table.
