About the Event
Meditation is the practice focusing one’s mind for a period of time, the art of which can bring about a feeling of deep relaxation and inner peace, which can improve mental health.
Scientific research has shown that is has been effective in dealing with emotions, such as anger and fear. Moreover, it has been found to regulate STRESS by working on the sympathetic nervous system.
Apart from the physiological effects of meditation, it can also lead to an increase in creativity, and connection with the "inner self."
About your facilitator:
Neeta Maharaj (Drs) is a psychologist who is qualified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Apart from understanding the psychological benefits of meditation, Neeta has trained in the traditional approaches to meditation.
