International Cinema Club: The Big Lebowski

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 | 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯

Cinecitta and International Center Tilburg present expat-friendly cinema screenings in Tilburg in their new collaboration called 'International Cinema Club'! Monthly film screenings that inspire, spark conversation, and/or go back to the roots of modern cinema. Either English spoken or English subtitled. Every film will be introduced by a film connoisseur and with every screening, we will host drinks to connect to your fellow internationals. This month, we will screen the classic 'The Big Lebowski'.

During the 'The Big Lebowski Edition', we will host a meet-up, with a special drink and bite that you will recognize if you've seen the film. Also, a film connoisseur will introduce the film and tell more about the director and it's importance in the history of cinema.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 '𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗸𝗶'

When "The Dude" Lebowski is mistaken for a millionaire Lebowski, two thugs urinate on his rug to coerce him into paying a debt he knows nothing about. While attempting to gain recompense for the ruined rug from his wealthy counterpart, he accepts a one-time job with high pay-off. He enlists the help of his bowling buddy, Walter, a gun-toting Jewish-convert with anger issues. Deception leads to more trouble, and it soon seems that everyone from porn empire tycoons to nihilists want something from The Dude.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿

They screen movies, yes, but Cinecitta is so much more than just that. In fact, Cinecitta is the cultural hub in Tilburg and Noord-Brabant. Cinecitta supports the local and national film community with a film production fund, special events for local filmmakers and film distribution. In September, Cinecitta even started a new talk show about film, music, art, and science.

Cinecitta's reach extends to the international community of expats and students as well. Therefore Cinecitta started a collab with International Center Tilburg. A new initiative focusing on International Cinema will present one screening per month that is either in English or with English subtitles. If you wish, you can become a member of the Cinema Club and attend a monthly screening (in English or with English subtitles) with an introduction by a film connoisseur. Members get a special price if they purchase a three-film and a free drink in the Ristobar with each visit.
